Des Moines is the capital of Iowa

Des Moines
A Melting Pot
Des Moines is not only the capital of Iowa, but it’s the capital of a melting pot of a number of influences and attractions within the area. This mid-sized city of under 250,000 people has within it some rather large-sized lures. Therefore, it is no wonder that growth on the tourism front has been on the increase.
Iowa State Fair
It is the home of the Iowa State Fair, that is an annual event each August. Ranked in the Top 5 in all of the US as one not to miss. So, it’s certainly well worth putting on your agenda! As is the impressive State Capitol Building. Incidentally, this is the only five-domed capitol building in the country. And this includes its rather beautiful gold leaf dome.
Craft Beer
But aside from all the State rankings and attractions, the city has an authenticity of its own. With influences in the craft beer industry, a thriving art scene and a calendar of events to rival any other city of its size. Likewise, is the appeal of its parklands, bike trails, and lakes. So, no matter your interest, there is so much to see and do.
